End of Year

Expanding Daily5 to Mathematics

We have had soooooo much success with the Daily 5 & The Cafe in Literacy that I decided to try a form of it in Math.  Since the Sisters have not put out their Math book yet, I had to create what I felt will help our class.  Here are our areas, signs & weekly sheet. I just posted them to Teachers Pay Teachers.

We are starting our non-fiction unit in reading and writing.  I look forward to sharing that next!

Happy New Year!

Today was our first day back and it was GREAT!  I think we were all glad to be back.  We reviewed stamina in the Daily 5 to get us back in the swing of things.  The children were excited about trading in books and getting new ones.  In Writer's Workshop we started How-To Books.  Everyone was eager to share what they could teach someone to do.  I am REALLY looking forward to this Unit of Study with the class.  Stories and pictures to come later.
